Meet Tug

Elmer “Tug” Hengel lives in Pillager, Minnesota with his wife Judy, where he continues to collect and restore classic cars.

Born and raised in rural Minnesota, Tug founded Hengel Construction in 1959, building residential homes and resort communities. In 1989, the company became Hengel Ready Mix and Construction. It has since become one of the area’s largest suppliers of concrete, aggregates, soils and sands.

Mostly retired now, you’ll typically find Tug in his shop, where he is assisted by his crew of two—Patsy and Dolly (shown below). When he’s not restoring cars, you’ll likely find him on his personal driving green or enjoying time with his perfectly large family.
